MBS-LogoRacing resumes at Myrtle Beach Speedway with many new events and special events for 2013.  With a late start in 2012 and short schedule, the racing schedule this year will be full.  NASCAR will continue to sanction the track with the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series points division being the speedways Late Model Division.  Support Classes will be the Chargers and the Mini-Stocks. The Mini-Stocks will race under the Mini-Mayhem Rules which now, will allow four or more tracks to have the same rules.  A review of the racing schedule will be Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, you will need to review the entire season schedule to keep up with action racing and special events held at the historic racetrack.   This will be the 55th year for the race track that has seen the greats of racing compete at the .538 mile asphalt facility.
Special events will see the PASS Series opening the season on March 15th and 16th.  The following weekend Friday March 22nd the postponed Myrtle Beach 400 running under the NASCAR Late Model rules and the South East Limited 100 Pro division will see the green flag.  This is the make-up event from last Novembers rain delayed Myrtle Beach 400.  The Myrtle Beach 400 line-up was set in qualifying but will welcome new competitors to compete in a twenty-five lap Last Chance race qualifying a minimum of four (4) cars to be added to the Big Race on Friday night, the Myrtle Beach 400.  The balance of the Southeast Limited race will be determined by a last chance qualifying session for the remainder of the line-up.  The Gold  pit pass wristbands for the postponed Myrtle Beach 400 will honored for the Friday admission to the pits.
Saturday will be the second the big days for the two divisions plus two other support classes.  NASCAR Late Model race 150 laps, Southeast Limited 100 Laps, the Southeast Challenger 50 laps, and the Mini Mayhem 100 Lap race has been added to the Saturday schedule.  Qualifying for all position will be determined by qualifying on Saturday prior to the races.
Two weekends of exciting racing gives Myrtle Beach Speedway its own SpeedFest.  Bob Lutz owner of the track stated, “Unfortunately the 2012 Myrtle Beach 400 got postponed till March 22nd, but with the addition of the Inaugural Spring Challenge at the Beach event on March 23rd…it will be a great kickoff to the 2013 season”.
Several new enhancements will be seen when fans arrive in 2013. As we strive to make the Myrtle Beach Speedway a family friendly facility, we will be unveiling the “Kangaroo Kid’s Zone” in honor of Victory Junction, a bigger Midway area, expanded menu in the concessions, the new Renegade Fueling station in the pits and more great facility changes coming as the year goes on.
